This is the world, this is the world we live in.

It's not the one I choose but it's the one we're given.

What I'm most looking forward to this weekend: Not using Clocky again until Monday.

What I'm not looking forward to this weekend: Monday (and Clocky's return D:) being so close.

Renewing my WoW subscription probably = the worst thing I could do for my schoolwork. :P By the way, I'm a gold-making MACHINE, I tell you, MACHINE.

Also, I was in Stormwind on Tuesday night on my human rogue and was turkeyed twelve times in about six minutes. I should really go kick some ass while in turkey-form--for the lulz.

Today Was Awesome Because #2

Today This week was awesome because:

1) I saw Rufus Wainwright live with my mom on Sunday! It was amazing, he was amazing, and if we weren't both gay, we would be married. No, srsly, I just want him to sit in the corner and sing to me, always.

2) I made [info]hateable understand exactly how goddamn crazy my dad is. SHE WILL NEVER DOUBT HIS MENTAL INSTABILITY AGAIN.

3) Tomorrow I'm actually going to answer my Question Tuesday questions. You guys should ask me more questions in the comments of this post! Ask me anything you'd like!

4) I'm reading Going Bovine by Libba Bray which is a comedy about mad cow disease. Yeah, really. It's hysterical so far. I'm also reading Wide Awake by David Levithan which I'm also enjoying. It takes place in the nearish future, probably 30-50 years from now, when a gay Jewish man is elected president which is basically ~revolutionary~. The main character is a gay Jewish teenage boy and heavily into politics, but then the election is called into question by crazy bitches. It's pretty good so far, I'm definitely enjoying it.

5) I researched and wrote my entire first draft of my research paper on Wednesday because the first draft was due THURSDAY. It was supposed to be 12-15 pages long. I wrote 14. Showed up to class on Thursday and was the only person who had written more than seven pages. Sigh.

6) I know for a fact I got a perfect score on my French exam today. Le chat est sous le table. Aimez-vous fromage? C'é aranciata?

7) Spent an hour on Omegle, trying to see if anybody on there WASN'T a creeper. Tomorrow I will make an epic post with all of the hilarious responses I received. Here's a teaser:

You: Do you like goldfish?
Stranger: yeah
You: Aren't they delicious?
Your conversational partner has disconnected.

Stranger: show me yo titties
You: Do you have a problem with man boobs?
Your conversational partner has disconnected.

Stranger: up for cam sex
You: Grandma?!!!
Your conversational partner has disconnected.

Stranger: hey
You: Are you a creeper?
Stranger: yes i am
Stranger: sorry
You: Thanks for admitting it.

8) Today I was standing on the bus and, of course, all of the bondage and escort ads fell out of the newspaper I was holding and fell on an old woman's head. She looked very dismayed that a whole lot of transvestite hooker ass had just rained down upon her face. D:

I have problems.

Guys, seriously, I'm procrastinating on my French work by deciding to learn Portuguese RIGHT NOW at this very moment. >.<

My flashcards already have three languages on them (Spanish, French, Italian in that order)--LIKE I NEED TO ADD MORE LANGUAGES.

Though I did leave room on purpose. >.>

Oh, look, a nickel...
Misc. Books. Stacks.
[info]girlflesh
I swear to god, my room is never cleaner, my stuff is never more organized, I never read as many books, as when I have A TON OF SHIT TO DO.

I wish I had [info]hateable's problem of not being able to let homework sit for a minute. I let it sit and ROT forever.

Teach me your ways, non-procrastinators. I will pay you. With the money I do not have.

Procrastination makes my life more difficult, and yet I do it. *facepalm*

The important thing is that there should be a space of time, say four hours a day at least, when a professional writer doesn’t do anything else but write. He doesn’t have to write, and if he doesn’t feel like it, he shouldn’t try. He can look out of the window or stand on his head or writhe on the floor. But he is not to do any other positive thing, not read, write letters, glance at magazines, or write checks. Write or nothing. It’s the same principle as keeping order in a school. If you make the pupils behave, they will learn something just to keep from being bored. I find it works. Two very simple rules, A. you don’t have to write. B. you can’t do anything else. The rest comes of itself.

Guys, if I applied this advice to school work, I WOULD HAVE SO MUCH LESS STRESS. No lie.

it weighs too much this time; my hands are broken (she'll disappear again before we've spoken)

While I don't think I'll win NaNo this year (though I'd like to), I think I'll actually get quite a bit of writing done anyway PRECISELY because I am way too busy to do it. (P.S. Add me as a writing buddy--I'm pumpkincarriage over there.)

How do you get something done? Give it to someone who already has too much to do.

I'm also positive I'll be insane over the next month, but I think that happens ALL MONTH, EVERY MONTH with me anyway. So I'm not too worried.

I'm also unofficially doing NaBloPoMo here (and perhaps at my actual blog--though LJ is definitely much easier <3) because, well, as most of you guys know I just recently, within the last few months, got back into LJ again after an extended absence.

In the last three weeks, I have posted here EVERY SINGLE DAY at least once. I'm...actually really proud of that. >.> Right now I'm in a place where I can't imagine not posting here at least once a day. It allows me to let some of my crazy escape so I don't scare normal people. <3 I want to keep it up for as long as possible, to be quite honest.

Also, to all of you on Twitter who encouraged me to eat fun-sized Snickers for breakfast? Also to supersize that Snickers which actually just consisted of me eating MORE fun-sized Snickers because I am cheap? I'm hating you guys a little bit right now. I mean. I love you guys. But my stomach will hate you forever. :(

And I plan on consuming 48 ounces of this shit tonight.

Oh my God. Red Bull tastes like Bubble Tape mixed with CRACK.

Yeah, I'm aware I'm going to end up killing myself with energy drinks. TALK ME INTO CAFFEINE REHAB IN TWO WEEKS, K?

There is something wrong with this picture.

I am procrastinating by reading articles about how to stop procrastinating.

This seems counter-productive.

This may be due to the inhumanly large quantities of caffeine I consumed yesterday.

Um. I kinda forgot to go to bed last night. >.>

But at least I finished coding donut.nu aside from minor tweaking to do later.

Of course, I didn't finish coding the site that actually needed to be done.

Sigh.

I think I've reached the point where it is easier to just stay awake.

Opinions?

Okay. Guys. So my independent study project is coming along.

Background for those just tuning in: Doing an independent study project this quarter on censorship of LGBT young adult fiction. This means I get to READ and INTERVIEW AUTHORS AND LIBRARIANS and I get credit for it. Srsly.

This entire project is going to be a website, actually, so I've created a mockup in Photoshop of what I want the eventual outcome to be similar to. I'm trying to get this up and coded tonight so I'm asking for your opinions:

Option #1 - Brighter shade of green
Option #2 - Slightly darker shade of green
EDITED TO ADD:
Option #3 - No background image
Option #4 - No background, just a wide, fluid layout

The only difference between option #1 and 2 is the shade of green.

The blue behind Information is going to be there when a) you hover over any of the links in the menu bar and b) when you are on the Information page or any of its subpages.

Additionally, the Banned Books bit at the top is what will probably be a randomized banned book with, perhaps, a short description and links.

1) Anything you think needs to be changed?
2) Anything that bothers you a little bit?
3) Anything you particularly like?
4) Hans (aka [info]lafemmedarla) didn't like the green in option #1 so I created option #2. Which do you guys prefer?
5) What do you think about the background?
6) ANYTHING you'd like to comment on.

Oh, in addition to the independent study, I'm using the same topic, only localizing it more for the Pacific Northwest, for my research paper in my Composition class--at the suggestion of both professors, so don't worry. :P
