This is the world, this is the world we live in.

It's not the one I choose but it's the one we're given.

Fail, awesome, and more awesome.
WoW. Thunder Bluff. No Burgers.

1) I broke my not-publicly-shared goal to post in my LJ every day for the rest of the year. Fail! I actually wrote an entry for my actual blog yesterday, but forgot to post a version here as well. *facepalm* I was too busy doing what's listed under item #2.

2) Yesterday I watched the entire first season of How I Met Your Mother and IT WAS AWESOME. I also watched the first third of season two. I am so addicted. It's amazing. Why haven't I been watching this for years? /fail

3) I've started regularly posting at my blog and I'm excited. I really do want to keep it up this time. I need to think up some consequences for if I fail to keep it updated at least twice a week. Help me think of stuff!

4) I learned how to play gin a week ago and today I won for the first time! Yay! Very exciting. :D

5) I got my WoW account back, yay. They have super ominous hold music of doom and it is beautiful and/or fucking terrifying. I had to hold for an hour, but once I got a hold of a person, they fixed it in less than five minutes. Yay.

Do any of you play WoW? What servers? What side?

I've been playing sporadically for about three years. Now I play primarily on Bronzebeard because I'm a member of [info]wow_doth and [info]wow_dota (Daughters of the Horde and Daughters of the Alliance, respectively). I actually transferred to that server just to join the guild. I don't have a loyalty to either side, but I tend to play more Alliance-side because my highest-level character is there, but I love both.

I'm also an altaholic diagnosed with ADD (and going untreated) so I also don't have any high level characters. D: I think I need to set leveling goals or something. :P

1) Rufus Wainwright is fucking amazing live.

2) He is also hilarious.

3) Fact: If we weren't both gay, he would be my husband.

4) I just want him to sit in the corner and sing to me, always.

5) Also, [info]hateable? "Clowns bother me......."

Because we clearly can't just be happy for other people.

Dear Fandom,

Jensen was never going to go for you anyway because your eyelashes cannot match the awesomeness of his ridiculous eyelashes. So suck it the fuck up, princesses.

No love,

You guys are my favorites.
#and now you've come along, VM. Veronica/Wallace. Come Along.

So, guys. You know I love my web development. And if you don't, well: I LOVE MY WEB DEVELOPMENT.

I also love having a personal site and blog. Problem: I love my LJ people best so blogging feels lonely without you guys. :( So I end up abandoning my blog and losing my entire ~audience~. I do not want to do this!

So, #1: I just redesigned DONUT.NU and redid stuff and now it feels more...like me. And I feel more at home. Except, the problem is I miss my favorite people. <3

And #2, do any of you guys keep active websites? Particularly personal sites and blogs, but I also want to know about any other sites you guys run! Talk to me! Tell me about the awesome stuff you having going on. And no lying and saying it isn't awesome because I am positive it is. :)

Today Was Awesome Because #1

You guys, today this week was awesome because:

I rediscovered this person: [info]etzyofi (aka, formerly sandwch__zombie)

I discovered these people: [info]bisou, [info]epicet, [info]honestlygreen, [info]shiplessheathen (purely alphabetical, guys!)

I got a new nickname: Hot Donna, courtesy of [info]shiplessheathen. LIKE FROM THAT 70S SHOW. How awesome is that? I give you all permission to call me Hot Donna as often as you'd like.

I got @replied on Twitter by an author: even though it was related to overcaffeination and orange highlighter consumption. >.>

I had epic conversations with these people: [info]hateable, [info]etzyofi, [info]honestlygreen

I discovered awesome in theatre-form: If You Give a Mouse a Cookie is going to be at the Seattle Children's Theatre until the end of November.

I made one wise decision during an otherwise very unwise three-day stretch: Good Burger is at the top of my Netflix queue and will be arriving tomorrow.

I do not even care that If You Give a Moose a Muffin completely pwns If You Give a Mouse a Cookie.

OH MY GOD, GUYS. The best thing that has ever happened to me in my entire life JUST HAPPENED.

If You Give a Mouse a Cookie is going to be at the Seattle Children's Theatre for the next month.

I texted all of my friends about this, and one just replied: You are a nerd.

YAY SHAME SHOWS <3
Kristen Bell. ROFLMFAO. So Cute.

I'm doing research for my awesome English independent study project thing and was looking at of the ten most frequently challenged books of the 21st century, by year, and saw this entry:

Gossip Girls (series), by Cecily Von Ziegesar
Reasons: homosexuality, sexually explicit, offensive language, and unsuited to age group

And all I thought was this: "Oh my gosh, I want to read that now. If only it was Blair and Serena finally admitting their true love."

And then I realized there are some things more embarrassing to admit than others. >.<

I love you guys.

Things I love right now:

1) Group AIM chats with [info]missambs and [info]lafemmedarla even though I think [info]missambs (aka Klaus) died about 45 minutes ago. The Pamcake (aka Hans) and I are still alive though.

2) Extended comment threads with [info]hateable involving MANY SUPERNATURAL ICONS.

3) Pie.

EDIT: 4) The fact that the Great Mouse Detective came out before I was even born.

EDIT #2: 5) I had one of the best conversations ever in the comments of this post, I SWEAR TO GOD. SO MANY CAPSLOCK. IT WAS PERFECT. There was pie. You should have been there.

Coincidentally, #4 is also on the list of things that Hans hates right now. :D

Don't worry, I'll share.
AtS/BtVS. Darla/Dru. Get Your Game Face

Oh my gosh, you guys.

The title of the show Netflix is sending me right now?

Bloodhound: The Vampire Gigolo

With a title like that, you know it will be CRACK LIKE NO CRACK YOU HAVE EVER SEEN BEFORE.

Help me fight for awesome, you guys.

So. Guys. Remember how I was talking about the English independent study project I'm undertaking? I know you don't. That's okay. :D

The gist: I'm studying LGBT young adult fiction and censorship. More specifically, I get to make a website with an LGBT YA book database, articles on book challenges and bannings and whatnot, plus interviews with librarians, readers, and hopefully, YA authors.

I GET 5 QUARTER CREDITS FOR COMBATING CENSORSHIP AND DOING SOMETHING AWESOME. <3 my brain sometimes.

Now, you guys should help me decide on a domain name. Feel free to leave your feelings on any of the ones below or suggest something! If you have an awesome idea for a site title, let me know!

I totes wish I could call it 'Reading Rainbow' or something. I think I may call the book database that instead. :P Brings a whole new meaning and you know it. ;)

banned.cc/banned.nu -- I like how short these are, but is it bad to use .cc/.nu for a more professional site? Also, I can expand beyond just LGBT in the future, if I choose. I'll want to keep the MG/YA focus though.

lgbtya.com/lgbt-ya.com/lgbtqya.com/lgbtq-ya.com -- makes it so I don't have to focus JUST on censorship issues in the future, can expand

lgbtfiction.com/lgbtqfiction.com -- ditto, except doesn't look like a jumble of letters

bannedlgbt.com/bannedlgbtq.com -- very to the point, doesn't allow for expansion to YA as a whole

bannedya.com/banned-ya.com -- sounds a bit like mods bitching and lmfaoing about using their banhammer

yacensorship.com/ya-censorship.com -- if you're one of those people who doesn't know how to spell 'yeah', it looks like I'm encouraging censorship. "Censorship, fuck yeah. Freedom is not the only way, yeah."

Or, my personal favorite, but clearly a non-contender:
